Welcome to Moreland Farms! We re a multi-generation, family owned and operated diversified farm located in north-central Oklahoma. We re hiring a Herdsman to join our team in South Haven, KS (About 50 miles south of Wichita, Kansas). In this role, you will be managing the day-to-day activities of a large beef cattle herd including feeding and overall herd health. The Herdsman reports directly to the owner and is responsible for the success of this arm of the operation.

What you will be doing:


  • Performing daily cattle feeding and nutrition activities.
  • Doctoring of sick animals.
  • Daily management and monitoring of cow health
  • Performing preventative health and treating illnesses.
  • Building and maintaining farm fences.
  • Assisting with breeding and placement decisions.
  • Recording and maintaining accurate records both manually and digitally.

This job is for you if you have:


  • 2
    years of prior experience in cattle handling and herd health.
  • Understanding of proper cattle handling/husbandry techniques.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and follow protocols.
  • Honesty, reliability, detail-oriented, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work well in both an individual and team setting.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
